Vacuum coffee pots have a long history and have a deserved reputation for producing a fantastic brew. This kit comes complete with everything you need - reusable filter, scoop, wire trivet and stir stick. Quick primer on how Mad Scientist Coffee Brewing works: Coffee grind should be slightly finer than regular drip methods. Fill the bottom carafe with cold water. Drop the washable, reusable cloth-covered filter into the top chamber with the attached chain dangling inside the siphon tube and hook the chain to the bottom of the tube. Add 5-8 (depending on your size carafe) small scoops of coffee to the top infusion chamber. Use medium-high heat; when water boils, place the top infuser with grounds over the bottom carafe. Water is siphoned to the top chamber and infuses the coffee grounds (a small amount of water often remains in the bottom, this is normal). Remove from heat, stir the brewing coffee with the included bamboo stir stick; then let it flow down through the filter to the bottom carafe. Remove the top for serving. Bonus: the top lid doubles as a holder for the siphon tube once the upper carafe is removed after brewing.
Vacuum pot brewer kit includes bamboo stir stick, wire heat diffuser and filter for a complete brewing setup.
Works on gas and electric rangetops; included wire diffuser optimizes use on electric coil burners
Bottom and top are made of non-reactive borosilicate glass. Your coffee's flavor is not compromised.
Both top and bottom are also dishwasher-safe so they're a snap to clean; bottom is also microwave-safe for reheating.
Conversation piece brewing method: boiling water in bottom carafe bubbles up into the top chamber, stir with the included contoured bamboo stick, let 'er drip!
