The Saeco Via Veneto is the perfect espresso machine to introduce the novice to brewing espresso at home. Designed for ease, the Via Veneto has a removable reservoir, a Panarello wand, and clearly marked rocker switches for running the steaming and brewing functions. Pressing the on/off button, which controls the main power, will cause the machine to begin heating. When the machine has warmed up to the correct temperature, the brewing switch will illuminate to indicate that it is ready to begin brewing. The Via Veneto comes with filter baskets for use with either ground coffee or ESE compatible pods. The ground coffee filter basket is pressurized, which allows the machine to produce great shots using pre-ground coffee by decreasing the machine’s sensitivity to grind fineness and tamp pressure. After filling the portafilter with either ground coffee or pods, attach it to the machine and press the brewing button to begin extracting your shot of espresso. Once the desired amount of liquid has been dispensed, press the brew button again to stop the water flow. Pressing the steam button will begin heating the machine to steaming temperatures. When it has reached the correct temperature, the brew light will come on again to alert you that it is okay to open the steam valve using the knob on the right side of the machine. These basic controls make this machine a great learning tool for the newest members of the espresso community. The Saeco Via Veneto espresso machine comes with single, double, and pod portafilter baskets as well as a 7 gram coffee scoop, a hand priming pump, and starter kit that includes coffee, cups, and an instructional video. It is available in Black or White.
